This qualification reflects the role of entry-level community services workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day to day support of individuals in community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs. At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect. Work may take place in a range of community services organisations.
The purpose of this course is to enable learners to develop skills and knowledge to improve their employability and work readiness skills in the community service sector. The focus of the course is based around orientation into the workforce and pathways into further vocational study. The course has been developed to enable learners to gain the general skills and knowledge in the community services sector without limiting them to a specific stream. Graduates from this course will be able to seek employment in entry level positions in the community services area, aged care, disability, early childhood education and care.
The course is intended to provide the student with support and encouragement whilst taking into account their individual needs, backgrounds and experience of each learner.
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
There are no entry requirements for this Qualification.
However, students are required to undertake an LLN assessment as part of the enrolment process to ensure the student is at a satisfactory level to be able to undertake the training.
Course duration is over 10 months. Delivery mode is classroom based. This course is subject to demand based on confirmed enrolments.

Where applicants can show evidence of prior qualifications or experience in a related field, they may apply for RPL (Recognition of Learning).
Where applicants can show evidence of a current equivalent prior qualification or Statement of Attainment, a Credit Transfer may be given for units of competency.
